Villa Halases
About the Villa
Villa Halases, or also called Panorama Villa Halases, is located in Alikampos, on the west side of Crete in Greece. Villa Halases is more than 250 years old and in 2024 changed ownership. The new owners renovated and modernised the Villa whilst trying to keep it's original charm and authentic elements.
All rooms are fitted with new air-conditioning units, and each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. Also the large shared kitchen and living room has it's own bathroom. The accommodation benefits from a large private pool with attached children's pool. The pool area provides tranquility through a view of the village on one side, and mountain views on the other side, whilst surrounded with plants and trees. The yard is large with BBQ equipment, whereas each of the upstairs rooms has their own patio. There is free private parking in front of the Villa, free WiFi throughout the whole complex including all outdoor spaces, TV in each room (satellite and aerial), a washing machine and two fully equipped kitchens (one with a dishwasher and oven), and a kitchenette upstairs. Towels and bed linen are provided in the Villa.
Panorama Villa Halases is set in Alikampos, and is about 30 km from Rethymno with its great restaurants and bars as well as the Archaeological Museum. Towards the west, it's about 40 km towards the Old Town of Chania, and 45 km from Chania Airport (CHQ).

About Alikampos
Alikampos is an ancient village in the mountains at the foot of the East side of the Lefka Ori Mountains in the Apokoronas district of Crete. The village is located on the road to Choria Sfakia, which connects the north and the south side of Crete - this road starts roughly halfway between Chania and Rethymno near the village of Vryses. This road passes the village at about 600 meter above sea level, and at the road exit towards the village you will see a road sign with Villa Halases pointing towards the left (see picture on the right).
Alikampos was created over 1,000 years ago. Just outside the village, an ancient 14th century Byzantine church can be found, which is the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God. You can find more about this church and the beautiful fresco's inside, including extensive explanation, in Peter Webscott's travel blog.
